Pabst Brewery is where it all happened last Saturday for Dan and Kate's wedding. Such a beautiful venue! The ceremony took place in the courtyard (under a tent because of the rain). It was a fun, laid back wedding...they even had their dog there! So cute! In fact, besides a handful of "posed" pictures done before the ceremony, this wedding was shot entirely photojournalist style.
Last week I was downtown with Angela and Ricky to photograph their engagement session. We started off at the flag pole where they got engaged (Awwww). It was chilly and windy down by the lake so we then headed to a nearby park to finish the photos. It was a lot fun. Can't wait for the wedding!
I was up in Mosinee this past weekend to photograph my dear friend (so dear she was my maid of honor) Jessa and her boyfriend Don and their families. It started raining about 15 min. into the session so the majority were taken on the porch of Don's parents house. Luckily it was an awesome log cabin porch.
Two weekends ago already I was out at the Country Springs Hotel in Waukesha for April and DJ's "Big Day" with the help from Lindsey at Lindsey Z Photography. www.lindseyzphotography.com. It was a beautiful day! The ceremony was held down at the gazebo and then off we went to the fun filled reception. I had a blast laughing and watching everyone dance. AND April and DJ had the most memorable dance thus far! They started off with a slow song and then broke into "Baby Got Back" and followed that with a montage of great dance songs including some MJ, "The Dougie", there was some disco and "Single Ladies" just to name a few. It was quite impressive to watch! And they didn't miss a step! It was awesome!
Last week we were out at Old Falls Village for Lindsey's shoot. It was a beautiful crisp evening with a nice breeze that helped us out for a few shots! We found a building that matched her outfit which was kind of fun!
Third Ward here we come! Last week we shot Alyson's photos in the Third Ward, which seemed to a perfect spot for her because apparently she is quite the artist! I saw one of her drawings, which was beautiful! It was a lot of fun, one of my person favorite spots in the greater Milwaukee area. And the peacock outfit scored major points with me! :)
Last Tuesday we were out at St. John's Military Academy in Delafield for Hannah's senior session, she had quite an audience let me tell you... If you didn't know (I didn't) it is an all boys boarding school. I was out there just the day before with a family and we were given complete permission to photograph wherever we like. But on Tuesday, according to a rather unpleasant man on a golf cart, we were not welcome to shoot there without a written consent form, which we did not have... He let us finish up our session which we were grateful for. Apparently young cute girls running around campus in a cheer uniform is distracting to the young boys...who'da thunk...
I have a bit of story to tell with this one...I know that Jen and Kenny have had bad luck with Photographers in the past, so I knew how important these photos were going to be for them. We met at the Fish Hatchery in Delafield (a good 35 min. from my house). What happens before our shoot even starts...I lock my keys along with my camera bag, lenses, flashes and reflector in my car. All I had was the camera around my neck and my 85mm and the light nature gave me. Luckily they are friends so I didn't feel like such a complete idiot. Believe me there was still a lot of "what the heck were you thinking you stupid girl?" going on in my head but they were great. Kenny called AAA, an hour later they show up, and in between, I was able to score some great photos. Here are some samples below.
I'm a bit behind on my blogging, I apologize. I've had 6 photo shoots since last Friday and am trying desperately to catch up! Monday morning Danielle and I met up at Lime Kiln/Mill Pond parks (a popular spot in the Falls) for her Senior Portraits. So many great photos to choose from...
